This story is written in first–person singular by the author.
My name is Vidya. In Sanskrit, it means knowledge.
I was born on January 17, 1974, in Chennai. I share my birthday
with Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of America’s
Declaration of Independence. He was also an inventor famous for
experimenting with electricity and invented bifocals. There ends our
connection! I have never been fond of science, and I don’t create
accounting books.
I give a certain percentage of my earnings to various charities every year. I would like to spend more time, in the future, with the not-so-privileged children. I increasingly believe giving money is easier and that spending time is more involving and is nobler.
